During the trip to Rome, I was impressed by the combination of bricks and concrete when visiting the Pantheon. Also, as a stop in the most historically important trade route the Silk Road, the trend of wearing high quality garments was brought into Italy, which could be seen as the bedrock of Italy’s well-known textile and clothing industry. However, facing rough competition from low cost countries and decreasing demand for clothing, the Italian luxury textile industry was threatened and lost its position. Therefore, after the exploration of fabric-formed concrete casting, I would like to design a museum to exhibit Italian handmade textiles’ high-quality and craftsmanship with a type of invented bricks, fabric-casted concrete brick.
